But if I did, I would troubleshoot as described above. To answer your original question, no, I haven't experienced anything like the issue you're seeing. Along with swapping HDMI input port, I would try swapping with a new cord. Also, trying to swap the Roku to HDMI2 for testing.

Does it do this when switching between all devices? On your DVD player or chromecast? Does it have some powersave feature that kicks in if the Roku is frozen? Does it do this regardless of whether the Roku is on HDMI1 or HDMI2? I would troubleshoot this by enabling the Roku screensaver and disabling the TV powersafe features if they exist. That's assuming you don't have some external switch or are physically pulling the cord out or something else that you didn't mention about. But the Roku itself can't know whether the TV has it selected for input or not (90% sure on this- correct me if I'm wrong), so the Roku is going to be broadcasting its a/v signal or screensaver to the TV the whole time regardless of whether the TV is listening to it. You say the problem only occurs when switching the TV's inputs. Looking at number 1, could this be the Roku? I don't think it can. If so, we can narrow down the problem to three possible things: When you switch the TV input from HDMI1 to HDMI2 and back, the Roku isn't recognized. Something else (Chromecast in this case, but it doesn't matter), is connected to HDMI2. To paraphrase for my own clarity, you're saying that your TV has two inputs: HDMI1 and HDMI2.

When you make the HDMI connection, or the link is initialized, the two devices exchange their encryption keys and set up the secure pathway between them. The idea is that for a HDMI supporting device to work the entire device must be certified HDCP-compliant, which means that just about anything can generate a HDMI signal but only a 'display device' can consume an HDMI signal, IE a TV, and not something which can record. This is one of these silly, misguided DRM systems that's designed to prevent you from recording things. HDMI connections all use a type of encryption called HDCP- High bandwidth Digital Copy Protection. This sounds like it could be an HDCP issue.
